Alumni's excellence in Photography: Alessio Pellicoro and Alessandro Di Leonardo

Published on November 28, 2023

In November, two Photography Alumni distinguished themselves nationally and internationally with their powerful images that can speak about people's destinies through the places they live.

Alessio Pellicoro, a 2019 graduate of IED Roma, brings his Taranto to Montreal, where his exhibition The Waste Land is hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute until December 29. Alessio tells us about a land-use plan initiated in the city in the 1960s, which today gives us back the image of a place marked by the passage of big industry and wild construction.

Alessandro Di Leonardo on the other hand, freshly graduated from IED Torino, tells about the border between Italy and France in the Susa Valley, where every day migrants in search of a better life face police controls and the cruelty of nature. The project is called Milieu and it has been published in La Repubblica.
