IED Alumni Interview - Communication: Federico Bruno

- IED MILANO | Communication Design and Brand Communication - 2017 | Brand Sales Manager at Fandango Club Creators
YOU NOW:
Brand Sales Manager at Fandango Club Creators. In the last three years I've been in charge of Sponsorship and Partnership for all ours Format Events like Milan Games Week & Cartoomics, PLUG-Mi, "G! come giocare" and more. The biggest challenge for the events industry has been COVID 19, as we had to switch from physical events to digital ones. Luckily our team has been strong enough to transfer all the knowledge into the digital world and we created something eveng bigger than before
CREATIVITY:
Working on a Branded Content and Event Agency, creativity has always been fundamental for all my projects. All the big clients I'm working with (Puma, Nintendo, Monster Energy, eBay...) need a consultant that is both creative and precise on all the project phases, and IED has been the perfect place to learn how to be that person.
IED LOCATIONS:
I've chosen Milan because, in my opinion, it is the most creative and innovative city in Italy. As I've always wanted to work in the Advertising and Communication sector, choosing IED Milan has played a fundamental role in my life. Just to give you an example, one of my professors at IED is now my CEO, as he appreciated my mindset during my student years and he decided to invest in my professional career.
MEMORIES:
The most remarkable memory I have of my studies in IED is the thesis period. It was the first time I was working with 10 people on the same project and, as you can imagine, it wasn’t easy as 10 different minds working on the same things have many ideas that sometimes collide. But we created a small agency asset, becoming a family that lived together for most of their time (I swear, we slept together in the same house to be faster in the analysis phase) and creating friendships that are still strong after 5 years.
CHALLENGES OF OUR TIMES:
The biggest challenge I had the opportunity to live has been, for sure, COVID19. As I work for an event that is based on 150.000 people that buy a ticket for a physical event, we had to change totally the idea we had of our project, switching on a digital activation that we never did before. We worked days and night to do it and it has been a great success, so huge that we decided to continue with the digital activation during the physical event we did this year.
ADVICE:
Work hard and have 100% passion for what you want to do. It's an amazing sector, full of amazing talents. If you want to be one of them, be ready to show off your most interesting talents. We need new managers and designers and I hope you'll be one of them!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:
The activity that I found most valuable to my personal growth has been my first job stage. It has been the first time that I had the opportunity to understand how real job life is and to understand if it was the life I wanted to live. And it is! My thesis project was about LEGO, one of the biggest toys brand around the world. As said before, it is the best memory I have of my path in IED, and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did. It will be your first client and your first agency, be part of it!
