IED Barcelona Alumna Aisha Rao Celebrates Five Years in Fashion with Upcycled Lehengas

Switching from a promising law career to fashion design is no small feat, but Aisha Rao made it work. The Hyderabad-based designer and IED Barcelona alumna recently marked her fifth year in the fashion industry, boasting a celebrity client list. After earning her law degree in 2014, Rao realized her true passion lay in design. She studied at IED Barcelona and later at Parsons NY before returning to India in 2017 to launch her own label. Rao has built a successful brand specializing in upcycled lehengas, including her latest collection, Banafsh, starting with a single tailoring machine. Read her interview on Lifestyle Asia
