IED Alumni @ Barcelona Design Week

Barcelona continues to be a focal point for design innovation, and two upcoming events will prominently feature the works of IED Alumni, showcasing their commitment to creativity and sustainability.

Barcelona Design Week: Eco-Conscious Art Installation

This October, Barcelona Design Week will feature an eco-conscious art installation called "Hanging By a Threat." Created by IED Barcelona students Violeta Martín and Lluis La Hoz, the installation aims to raise awareness about the environmental impact of consumerism. Made from recycled Cervezas Alhambra beer bottles, the artwork will be displayed at the Barcelona Centre de Disseny. The installation also includes a solar charging point for nighttime visibility. The unveiling event is set for October 18, aligning with the primary day of Barcelona Design Week, themed "Design for Human Future."

From Madrid to Barcelona: Celebrating Latin American Talent

After a successful showcase at the Madrid Design Festival earlier this year, the "Latam Creative Talent" exhibition will make its way to Barcelona Design Week in October. Organized by IED, the exhibition aims to recognize and showcase the best Latin American design projects. The show will feature works by Latin American students from IED's Spanish campuses, selected following the three main goals of the New European Bauhaus: Sustainability, Togetherness and Beauty.

Both events offer a unique perspective on design, from local to global, and are free to attend.
