Gabriele Chiave @ Milano Design Week
Following the success of his lecture for young graduates at IED in São Paulo, eclectic designer and IED Milano alumnus Gabriele Chiave is preparing for a noteworthy debut. Controvento, the creative collective founded in 2022, of which Chiave himself is a co-founder, created two important pieces for Milano Design Week. The first is an installation for AUDI. The second is a collaboration on two collections for FENDI Casa, which can be discovered from 17 to 23 April at the Fendi Casa boutique in Piazza della Scala. As the Creative Director of Marcel Wanders studio, Chiave has also created a lamp for LV and outdoor sofas for Poliform.

The installation, visible from April 18, will be in the private courtyard with public access of Portrait Milano, a Florentine hospitality brand Lungarno Collection hotel owned by the Ferragamo family. The space, with its main entrance on Corso Venezia 11, is a landmark and evocative location, at the centre of which Gabriele Chiave's installation, The Domino Act, will be. It comprises 22 monoliths arranged in a circle interacting with the surrounding environment and light. It is the artistic reinterpretation of the concept of sustainability through that of the domino to underline how a decision in a strategic area can trigger a virtuous process impacting others.
