Two IED Spain Alumni among the Arts Thread Global Design Graduate Show

The third edition of the Arts Thread Global Design Graduate Show in collaboration with Gucci has just come to an end. A panel of industry professionals including Lionel Vermeil, Luxury Prospective Director Kering, and Apple Associate Creative Director Nick Parsons voted to pick their favorites. Among them are two IED alumni: Baseem Munawwar, Swedish alumnus from IED Barcelona, and Josefina Maiza, Spanish alumna from IED Madrid. Both won in the Industry Judges category, the first in the Digital/visual communication/film, the second in the Fashion/accessories/textiles category. An extraordinary result if we consider that 5,489 candidates presented their work and only 500 were selected to participate.

The Fragile Surface project created by Artribune, read more about it here, in collaboration with IED goes on with the second cover created by a former IED student: it is the artist Andrea Crespi who with his work Stop Making Boring Art invites us to reflect on the meaning of art in a world where everything has already been created. The image plays with road signs to represent a big stop against ma
