
IED Roma design awards 2022

The annual event that rewards the most innovative ideas and projects developed in IED Roma was hoasted at the Alice Nella Città festival, an independent and parallel section of the Rome Film Festival, dedicated to the younger generations. Among the guests was the Italian cartoonist and illustrator Zuzu, alumna from IED Roma, who presented her latest work entitled Happy Days. Out of 24 finalist theses, 9 projects were chosen and given an award. They are:
- “Dante”, a short film by Lorenzo Amendola, Kiyoshi Annunziata, Susanna Bartolelli, Federico Borghesani, Lorenzo Foti, Emanuele Meloni, Flaminia Pennetta, Jelena Pistolovic, Eduardo Rizzo, Edoardo Taddei, Riccardo Zannoni, had a special mention at Alice nella Città.
- “The Leisure”, a fashion film by Clara Ninno, won the best thesis prize in the Performing Arts category. A metaphor that uses perspective to promote the richness that is found in diversity.
- “Frammenti”, installation on three sides of Palazzo Brancaccio, won the design prize. A project by Chiara Coghi, Sara Costanzo e Ambra De Matteis.
- “La Furia di Sekhmet” (the fury of Sekhmet), a graphic novel by Marta Stabile, that explores the duality of the Egyptian goddess linked to pandemics and cures, won the prize as best thesis in the Visual Arts category.
- “Emergency: programma Italia” won as best interdisciplinary project. The students involved are Dania Alivernini, Matteo Arnesano, Manuela Bianco, Mia Bocci, Leonardo Casciani, Giulia Aurora Cavo, Alberto Cefalo, Matteo Comite, Luigi De Lachenal, Martina Denaro, Lorenzo Di Donna, Chiara Fortunati, Giulia Grillo, Beatrice Manna, Lucrezia Marcelli, Laura Marzovillo, Gianmarco Mastroianni e Teresa Monoriti.
- “Amala”, an advertising campaign developed in partnership with AMA to raise awareness about correct garbage differentiation. It has won the Communication category. The work is by Giulia Calò, Martina D’Ortenzi, Sophie Lalia Morra, Sara Lamparelli, Ilaria Vasari.
- Francesco Giunta, Giacomo Rossi, Alex Torcolacci have won the Special Projects category with “Little pro”, a range of analogical products that use electricity to project images on pavements and walls around the city.
- “Bodyparts” by Gianluca Zumbolo, is a capsule collection that studies the body and the way it changes with time that won the Fashion Category.
Francesca Prencipe won the Master Category with the “Parkli” App that facilitates finding a parking space. Thanks to the App, community members can signal when they are freeing a space.
