
ADI-FAD, IED alumni from Spain conquer the jury
ADI-FAD, the benchmark association for product design in Spain, has been a full member of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) since 1961. Its prestigious ADI Awards include Delta Awards, ADI Medals and ADI Culture Awards. Three IED Barcelona alumni are among the winners: Alberto Torrecillas, Matteo Guarnaccia and Xueyu Ji. Alberto Torrecillas, was awarded the Delta de Oro for the design of the new Cupra Born "For being the first electric Cupra car by the brand to change the sector. It maintains a strong Cupra identity in the front and lights, with an elegant treatment of the interiors". A Delta de Plata was also awarded to the collective which also includes alumnus Matteo Guarnaccia, who wins with his project dedicated to the dissemination and critical reflection on post-nature as a reference framework for creation. The project, called Institute for Postnatural Studies, has been awarded for its activities, publications and research on current topics and issues related to the global ecological crisis. Finally, and ex aequo ADI de Oro medal for Xueyu Ji's Sway project “an everyday object that can be used by everyone and that solves a problem for many users. A measurement system suitable for blind people that manages to break down barriers and open the market to more inclusive products ”, which we had already talked about here.
