IED Alumni's special projects featured on DesignBoom
Social impact, sustainability and innovation are the main commitments by IED students and alumni around the world. A number of projects by undergraduates in Product and Interior Design from various IED offices, have been published by DesignBoom. Among these, Sbun-Design: Rethinking Plastic by Andrea List, Leonardo Santambrogio e Matteo Mulas, IED Milano alumni who have created an innovative extruder for 3D printers capable of reducing CO2 emissions by the entire printing process. Reddo by Francesco Lucini, alumnus from IED Barcelona, focuses on the circular economy, a speculative project on the possible reuse of natural waste such as oyster shells as a raw material. Xueyu Ji, alumnus from IED Barcelona, has created an innovative measuring tool for blind people that provides audible information rather than visual. Anna De Faria Papachristopoulou's project, alumna from IED Barcelona, also invites you to play with senses other than sight, proposing an unprecedented tourist exploration that challenges the mind to gather information and experiences that do not necessarily pass through the eyes. The project by Naroa Zabaleta, alumna IED Bilbao, is also rich in value and with a profound social significance. Starting from the real problems of refugee women, who struggle to carry out even simple and daily activities in safety, such as using the toilet, created a safe space to implement in refugee camps where these women can find privacy, dignity and security.
