In a nutshell

  • IED Milano
  • Design della Comunicazione - 2017
  • Founder at Feel the Studio - Milano

Who

Andrea Gemmiti is 26 years old, has a 40kg dog, and keeps getting numerous new ideas to turn into reality.

What

"A few years ago I launched my business, FEEL THE STUDIO, a project to redevelop and reuse abandoned spaces which I started during the pandemic. I must say that despite the complications everyone faced during that time, I am very happy to have started the project."

Where

I was born in Milan in 1996, and studied between Milan and London and I have graduated form IED Milano in Design della Comunicazione. The most important places for my education were London, where I worked for Zaha Hadid's architectural studio and for Lauren Baker, an established Hackney artist. Melbourne was another great city that helped me grow. There I had the pleasure of working for Stewart Russel's Spacecraft Studio, a multifaceted artist born in 1940, with whom we created projects for the National Victoria Gallery and for the Biennale of Sidney.

Why

"During the pandemic, I founded FEEL THE STUDIO, a cultural hub located within a redeveloped industrial space that has hosted and hosts various events, from the organization of personal and / or collective exhibitions, to private events and photoshoots. FEEL THE STUDIO is a showroom, but also the perfect place for book launches, musical events or the launch of new brands. Now our focus is to diversify and expand the concept of regeneration and redevelopment in order not to focus only on industrial spaces and look beyond ".

How

"I founded my business after having worked for large multinationals and small businesses, having acquired a general idea of what makes these two worlds different from each other. After having considered for some time whether to continue working for other companies, I decided to take the risk and open my own: today I can say that I am happy to have taken that challenge.”

Sei da poco diventato un One to one Mentor di IED Alumni. Come vivi questo nuovo impegno?

"I have undertaken this commitment with great serenity. I learn new things every day, and if I like sharing them with others, this makes me even happier because exchanging information and thoughts is nice, as it is constant and varied".
