César Mendoza

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, César has now been living in Italy for more than thirty years. He graduated in Industrial Design, had a successful career as a Product Designer in Tokyo, and moved to Milan in 1994 where he worked as a designer. In 2000 he created SUMO Design in Pavia, dedicated to the development of product design; from 2001 to 2013 he headed the Turin office of the European Institute of Design (IED); from 2012 to 2019 he was President of the ADI Association for Industrial Design of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley.
In Turin he acquired extensive experience in transportation design and, being a great fan of motorcycling, decided to make his dream come true for sustainable two-wheel mobility. Aware of the environmental problems and convinced that the future was electric, he combined research, experience and fun into a project that would improve urban traffic with innovative and efficient means of design. In 2014 he set up NITO - Nuova Industria Torinese - with a group of designers and collaborators with whom he shared the same objective of filling a gap in the sustainable two-wheeler market.
The project today has become reality, and offers products to the market that compete with the largest manufacturers, having brought forward César's revolutionary idea of mobility.
