IN A NUTSHELL

  • IED Milano
  • Jewelry Design - 2013
  • Founder and designer at GIÜRO

YOU NOW:
I’m a designer based in Milan, founder of GIÜRO, as well as bags and accessories designer at Fratelli Rossetti. In May 2021, during the lockdown I started to create jewelry with the aspiration of bringing color and joy into people’s lives. And that’s how GIÜRO was born. It’s more than a project, it’s a part of me and represents who I am. It’s a colorful mix of handmade jewelry crafted with love that keeps evolving along with my imagination. There are a lot of challenges. Starting a new business during a pandemic is not an easy, however it is a challenge that I am happy to face, as it brings me so much happiness and satisfaction, and, most importantly, allows me to do what I love the most: create.

CREATIVITY:
IED helped me fully discover, experience, experiment and deepen my passion for jewelry. The mix of technologies and craftsmanship I learnt during those 3 years, allowed me to understand the infinite world that exists behind a piece of jewelry. Bringing even more value to it. It also made me learn the importance of research, storytelling, and  method, which formed the person I am today. Rigor and precision are now part of me and my creative process, as well as always looking for inspirations from what surrounds me.

IED LOCATIONS:
Milan is not just where I come from, it is also a vibrant and culturally interesting place to grow up in, that keeps evolving while looking at the future. The beauty of IED is that it also allows you to meet people from all around the World and merge different cultures together.

MEMORIES:
Hands down the most special moment for me was when I wore my first piece of jewelry: a handmade ring originally made in wax and then casted in silver. It was the first time I realized the amount of work and care that goes behind a simple piece. I still wear it because it reminds me of the importance of the journey that led me where I am now.

CHALLENGES OF OUR TIMES:
When Covid hit I was working on a new collection of bags for Fratelli Rossetti. I remembered the awful feelings of being forced to stay home, not able to work at anything with all the stress related to not knowing when we’d be able to go back at our normal life, and how that would impact the business. To release the stress and to bring joy in my life I started to create jewelry in my living room. It started as a way to express my creativity during lockdown and it became one of the biggest achievements of my life: GIÜRO.

ADVICE:
Learn! As much as possible. Be curious! Listen to people and their experiences. Express yourself, fully! Don’t be scared and allow yourself to make mistakes. The important thing is to be true to yourself and what you do - if you really believe in it…then it means that it's worth it!

MORE ABOUT YOU:
OF COURSE! The doors of GIÜRO-land are always open, welcome! www.giuro.land and don't forget to read your horoscope!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:
The importance of craft, dedication and also of learning from what and who surrounds you are fundamental parts of my growth. Of course, knowing and being able to use the latest technologies and trends is key, but what truly inspires me as a designer is the constant journey of learning from traditions, craftsmanship and most importantly, people. My thesis project was an amazing experience, I loved being able to create a collection from start to finish for the first time. I remember that great feeling of being free to express my creativity however I wanted. I imagined a collection for a snow queen made from crystals, wool, silver and precious stones. I presented it as if it was a fairytale, creating a unique world around the collection. Nine years later is still one of the projects where I had the most fun.
