IN A NUTSHELL:
- IED Madrid
- Fashion & Accessories Design - 2008
- Founder and CEO of Barokah Jewels - Fashion and Beauty Director at Neo2 magazine
CREATIVITY:
Creativity is part of both my personal and professional life, as a fashion director I have to keep continuously inspired in order to bring new ideas to the magazine, as well as to my jewelry brand. I design my own pieces and I'm always looking for new references. Italian designers are always a great source of inspiration, as they always bring the most colourful, daring and creative ideas to the runway. That's one of the reasons why we feature them in Cosmopolitan Spain so often.

IED LOCATIONS:
I came to Madrid for a summer course in 2003. I was walking by the School and entered the building to get information and it sounded so exciting that I knew I would come back someday to study there, and so I did. Little I knew that I would pursue my career in Madrid and stay here for 16 years and counting.
CHALLENGES OF OUR TIMES:
I’m very fortunate that in these difficult times I haven’t stopped working at all. In Cosmopolitan we had to adapt to all the Covid-19 restrictions but we are still producing all our covers, and fashion and beauty editorials, following all security measures. As for Barokah Jewels, it has also been a good year. Due to the quarantine, almost every brand has increased their online sales and we were not the exception. We worked pretty hard on our customer service and social media communications, this way we maintained our customer loyalty. At the same time, our #BarokahGang (as we call our clients) has grown quite significantly in recent months, so we expect an even brighter 2021.

SUSTAINABILITY:
Regarding Cosmopolitan, we are constantly including news and articles about sustainability in our issues. We are aiming to promote sustainability in the fashion industry and brands. One of our main focuses is to bring awareness about this matter to our readers, as we believe it's our duty as part of the fashion industry. These are exciting times for sustainability as most brands are working on this matter and we are happy to communicate it to our readers. In fact, many of them have expressed their desire to produce 100% sustainable collections by 2025. As for Barokah Jewels, sustainability is also one of our priorities. Last year we changed all our packaging, which is now made of recycled materials.
ADVICE:
Work hard, DREAM BIG!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:
While I was studying, I worked in India for a non-profit organization (Creative Handcrafts), for three years during the summertime. This was a life-changing experience that would boost my career by putting into practice some of the skills that I’ve learned while I was studying. Also, my internship in ELLE magazine (through IED Madrid), that´s where I learned everything I now know about the fashion industry. I will always be grateful for being part of the magazine and for the people I met during my time with them. This internship really set the start for my professional career, which would lead me to where I'm at now.
