#IEDALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS - FEBRUARY 2021
WHAT'S UP THIS MONTH?

MARCO TOMASETTA TO THE TOP OF MONTBLANC!
Nicolas Baretzki, CEO of the German company that is part of the Richemont group, announced that as of March this year, Marco Tomasetta will be the creative lead of the well-known luxury and lifestyle brand. He is an Alumnus from the IED Milano, with other previous prestigious collaborations in the accessories sectors with brands such as Prada, Chloé, Louis Vuitton, and Givenchy men's and women's leather goods.

ALVARO MARS @ LONDON FASHION WEEK
The former IED Barcelona student recently presented his second collection during the London Fashion Week. Graduated in Fashion Design in 2019, he became famous for the volume and colours adopted for his designs. He is now one of the new representatives of Spanish creativity. Alvaro Mars participated to the event with a digital fashion show called Mavra Solar showing once again his concept of "beauty": an idea that breaks traditional rules and blurs boundaries between gender roles.

BLOOMING AGAIN: THE CREATIVITY OF IED STUDENTS ON VOGUE TALENTS
The special issue dedicated to the promotion of talents selected four projects by former students and recent graduates of the Fashion Design courses of the Milan and Turin offices. Claudio Atzeni and Fabio Candotti presented Sa Eminedda, a group project between Sardinia and Milan on gender identity. Neithan Herbert Ruiz Pillajo was selected with Ñuka Shunku, a collection consisting of a study of traditional silhouettes from Ecuador and Mexico deconstructed and reassembled in original shapes, already awarded at IED Avant Defilé and which showed at Milano Moda Graduate 2020. The Self on Canvas fashion collection by Nuria Piccirillo (IED Torino) instead came to life from the cloth discarded in the institute's laboratories.

LUCA RICCI FOR CORTINA 2021
Graduated in July 2020 in Communication Design, specialising in Art Direction, Luca Ricci is a young Alumnus from IED Milano. He was responsible for the graphics, the brand design and the packaging of the Cortina song, produced by DJ Klaus and chosen as the soundtrack of the ski world championships that were held in Cortina d'Ampezzo from 7 to 21 February.

NARMIN SHARIFOVA TRIUMPHS @ IDA - INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS
The IED Milano Alumna received an award at an event that celebrates and promotes the skills of emerging creatives in the fields of architecture, interiors, products, graphics and fashion design. Sharifova won a Silver Award in the Student category, thanks to the Lumen publishing project, created during an exam for the third year of the three-year course in Graphic Design.

IED ALUMNUS WINS A STARTUP CONTEST
Seepia by Federico Sainz de Robles is the startup that won an initiative by Instagram and the online magazine Modaes.es. The startup is a platform for the dissemination of new business projects, as well as a point of contact between entrepreneurs, companies, investment groups and other players in the fashion sector. In Spain it also produces garments that combine sustainability with comfort and durability, and that don’t get stained or creased or generate bad odors.
