IN A NUTSHELL:

  • IED Milano
  • Interior Design - 2007
  • Interior & Product Designer

YOU NOW:
I’m an interior and product designer with a studio in Milan where three people work with me on different projects. I work on interior design projects that are residential, hospitality or commercial spaces, and collaborate with design brands and design galleries.

CREATIVITY:
I choose IED because I was looking for something really creative but, at the same time, pragmatic. My main interest was focused in learning how to act in the design field in a professional way. IED really influenced my carrier, especially in the beginning during my first work experiences in design studios. Someway I was ready to take care to the creative aspects of a project and this helped me to find my role in a design studio where I worked.

IED LOCATIONS:
I was born around 250km far from Milan, Italy’s design capital, where I then decided to study design. Milan played a key role while I was student because it was rich of inspiration. The design week represents the peak of the year and was cool to live in the city where everything happened. Milan now is my home, where I live and where I based my studio, and I expect it will be like this for many years.

CHALLENGES OF OUR TIMES:
In the beginning, I was totally confused but I thought that it could be the right moment to take care of all the stuff that I usually postponed, like setting down a personal business plan and thinking about communication and strategy. Now we are still in the middle of the pandemic situation but I can feel positive vibes from many peoples, all of us are looking for better days and once they will come, we will live a great period of renaissance.

SUSTAINABILITY:
We are also very sensitive to the issue. We, as a design studio, force our clients to be responsible and use the right materials. We are doing deep research about sustainability and durability avoiding choosing materials that are difficult to dismantle.

ADVICE:
Be curious and, especially in the beginning, be patient because nothing comes immediately... Never give up!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:
I think workshops and the skills learned by using different software. They were really useful and the knowledge helped me a lot during the first year as a designer. Even if I was studying interior design, my thesis project was a kitchen in collaboration with an Italian design brand. It was my very first project on the industrial design field and it has been as much challenging as that opens my mind even as a product designer.
