A new collection for Pedro Galaso from IED Rio

Published on December 20, 2022

Furniture designer Pedro Galaso launches “De.Reter”, his new collection. It consists of three models of large mirrors made of a 3 mm thick laser-cut mirror glued onto a plywood base, with a solid wooden circle (natural or ebonised). The collection stems from Galaso's desire to provoke the gaze and subvert aesthetic canons through playful design. "The casting of a circle leads us to a deconstruction of what we consider perfect and, simultaneously, instigates us to rethink beauty standards. When our reflected image disconnects the face from the body, for instance, we can keep a new perspective of ourselves and thus reformulate our self-image,' he explains.
